Next Semester

As some people may know already, I won't be in second semester survey because I already took it in the summer (oh and by the way, second semester is so much more fun).  This class isn't going to be one of the classes that after I take it, I immediately let all that stored information rot and disappear from my head.  My family and I were never really involved in talking politics and economy over the dinner table (or actually over the TV), so this class started off as a struggle with getting used to.  But now that I'm aware of these things, I can spot them around me once in a while and say "I know that!" a little too happily.  I still may not be able to have strong political debates with people because there's still a lot that I don't know, but it's not like I'm not going to learn over time.  This class was a great start to the real world that I was missing out on -- I would say it was a great start to college too, but I haven't gotten there yet, so I'll tell you when I get there!

  1. Melanie, I completely agree with you! When my parents talk about politics, i'm not completely in the dark anymore. This class has really opened my eyes to the world around us. A world most of our parents like to shield us from. It's great to see your positive attitude towards the class and the things you learned!
